ROBERTO AFFONSO PIMENTEL (1939)
O Professor Roberto Pimentel é pioneiro do Mini Voleibol no Brasil, tendo produzido metodologia diferenciada a partir de 1974. Em suas atuações, nas escolas e outros ambientes (praia, clubes, morros) tornou-se a forma de ensino preferida pelas meninas. Sua pedagogia está hoje reconhecida pelos principais agentes educacionais e desportivos.
Trabalhou no Banco do Brasil (1963 a 1991) – Diretoria Internacional, CACEX, onde compôs livro único de Estatísticas de Comércio Exeterior, com tiragem em cores de 25 mil exemplares – 4 volumes. Apresentado ao presidente do Banco do Brasil – Camilo Calazans – para realizar o 1º projeto esportivo da recém criada Fundação do Banco do Brasil. Realizou serviços a beneficiar funcionários em atividades sócio desportiva na AABB-Rio e Jogos da FENAB por vários anos.
Aposentado, tornou-se também escritor, tendo produzido dois livros inéditos e aceitos pela crítica… “Villa Pereira Carneiro”, um bairro de Niterói (1922); e “História do Voleibol no Brasil”, 1939 a 2000 – 2 vols., 1.047 págs., inédito, memorialista, enciclopédico e obra de referência em Sociologia do Esporte.

Criatividade em soluções alternativas, aproveitamento de espaços, utilização de material de baixo custo e prática intensa no curto prazo da aula. O mini vôlei é revelado como caminho promissor para assegurar cumprimento da obrigatoriedade de prática da Educação Física no sistema escolar.
Pioneirismo e Buscas
Desde 1974, quando o Autor realizou o primeiro curso do Brasil, em Recife (PE), o minivôlei já conquistou diversos estados e certamente as aulas de educação física e os recreios ficaram muito mais interessantes. As buscas recaem também na dinamização de comunidades ou associações.
